Serving the passenger transportation community in New England and the North Eastern States since 1900.

NEPTA is an association of passenger transportation professionals - in the public and private sectors - whose goals are to:
  • Promote professionalism in its industry through conferences and workshops

  • Disseminate information on issues of interest within the urban and rural passenger transportation communities

  • Promote interchange, networking, cooperation and fellowship among its members and other related organizations

  • Represent the concerns of its members on issues of federal and regional interest 

NEPTA is proud to announce the recipients of the NorthEast Passenger Transportation Scholarship Award.   Attending recipients were acknowledged at the NEPTA Annual Meeting and Dinner on Thursday, December 3, 2009 at the Providence Biltmore in Providence, Rhode Island.

Eleventh Annual NEPTA Scholarship Golf Tournament update

NEPTA joined forces at the Tri-State Transit Conference
in Vermont on September 9 - 11, 2009 at the Jackson Gore Inn in Ludlow, Vermont. to facilitate maintenance training in northern New England.  NEPTA extends a thank you to the Tri-State committee members for inviting NEPTA to participate.   NEPTA would like to acknowledge and thank the following sponsors:  Allison Transmission, Inc.; Carrier Transport Air Conditioning; Cummins; The Braun Corporation; Q'Straint; RICON; and Twin Vision/GTS.

December 3, 2009
NEPTA hosted their Annual Meeting and Dinner at the Providence Biltmore in Providence, Rhode Island.  The afternoon session began with a Ridership Symposium, moderated by Noah Berger, FTA Program Manger.  Riding Out the Highs & Lows without Getting on a Ridership Rollercoaster: Maintaining & Growing Ridership During Volatile Economic Times was the focus for the panelists and the audience.  Nancy Carroll, Norwalk Transit District, Deputy Administrator; Tina Cote, Franklin Regional Transit Authority, Administrator; Dennis Lyons, DATTCO, Coach Group Vice President; Evan Rosset, CCTM, Manchester Transit Authority, Executive Director and Mike Sharff, Peter Pan Bus Lines, Director of Planning and Development joined the list of panelists and shared their stories and experiences on ways to maintain ridership during these times.  Thank you to all participants.

NEPTA welcomed Rachel Simon, author of the acclaimed memoir Riding the Bus with My Sister as the evening guest speaker.

During the NEPTA Annual Meeting, Chris Anzuoni announced the 2010 NEPTA Officers and Board of Directors, which was unanimously voted to accept.  The new slate of NEPTA Officers and Board of Directors will be effective January 1, 2010.  Congratulations to the incoming slate of officers.   Special thank you to Joel Abraman, Michael Blondin and Bill Pellegrine for their 6 years of service as members of the NEPTA Board of Directors, and to Mike Sharff, Immediate Past President, for his many years of dedication and commitment to the NEPTA Board. 

John Whittaker presided over the rest of the meeting and gave a special thanks to Carol Tally for her continued service and dedication to NEPTA.
