Dear NEPTA Members, Golfers, Supporters and Sponsors; The NorthEast Passenger Transportation Association (NEPTA) founded the NEPTA Scholarship Award Program in 1999 and since its inception has awarded $47,500 to 37 recipients entering or continuing their education in the transit industry. This award program is available to both employees and dependents of employees of NEPTA member organizations. The NEPTA Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament was established as the primary support of the scholarship award program and from the support of this year's tournament, NEPTA will continue the scholarship program again this year. Despite the sky rocketing temperature of 100ƒ, NEPTA welcomed 52 golfers to the 10th Annual NEPTA Scholarship Golf Tournament at Blackstone National Golf Club. Our congratulations go out to the best team score winners: Kevin Shidler, The Braun Corporation; Bob Ryan, Cape Ann Transportation Operating Company; Doug Gifford, Matthews Buses, Inc.; and Tammy Ostroski, Northwestern CT Transit District. Second place team: Comer Hobbs, DATTCO; Steve Keith, DATTCO and Francois Caron, RICON. A special thank you to the worst team score team - thanks for being great sports!
