NEPTA 12th Annual Scholarship Golf Event Update
Dear NEPTA members, golfers, supporters and sponsors:
The NorthEast Passenger Transportation Association (NEPTA) is proud to announce the continuation of the NEPTA Scholarship Program this year. From the continued support over the years, NEPTA has been able to award a total of $55,500 to 48 recipients since the commencement of the program in 1999. The NEPTA Scholarship Program was established to assist both NEPTA member employees and their dependents. The goal of this award program is to promote and encourage the growth of students entering into or continuing career advancement in the transportation field.
Under clear skies (for the most part), we welcomed 40 golfers to the Heritage Country Club in Charlton, Massachusetts.
After 18 holes of golf, the participants enjoyed the 19th Hole Reception, sponsored by Comer Hobbs, DATTCO, Inc.; followed by a BBQ lunch sponsored by Kevin Shidler, The Braun Corporation. Our grand prize winner won 4 tickets to the Duetche Bank Golf Tournament in Norton, Massachusetts, which were donated by Shepard Bros., Inc.
Thank you to David Delforte, NEPTA Board Member and to the NEPTA Program Committee for putting forth the "golf games", which certainly increased the fun as well as the scholarship fund. Mulligans were sold in hope for a better score. Many golfers tried their luck at the 50/50 putting contest, which looked easier than it was. Congratulations to the winner, Bob Ryan from Cape Ann Transportation Operating Company, Inc.
Congratulations to the best team score winners: Ken Whalley, Global Montello Group Corp., Kevin Young, Global Montello Group Corp.; Jim Pankonen, AA Transportation and to Jeff Cohn from Clever Devices.

Whether you supported this event on the course or through a sponsorship, your contribution is appreciated and it is from your support that NEPTA is able to continue this program again this year. Scholarship applications will be available on August 1, 2010.
Best wishes for a fun, healthy and safe summer and we look forward to seeing you at the CCTM training in September and at the NEPTA Annual Dinner Meeting in December.
Warm regards, The NorthEast Passenger Transportation Association (NEPTA) Officers and Board of Directors
